It all started in 2006, when our founder, Phil Murphy, was looking for a way to leverage his engineering skills while staying connected to the people who make Western Carolina the best place on Earth to live. Word spread quickly, and Proxy has now grown into a team of 7 professionals managing over $180 million worth of homes in the region.

Jamie Gilpin, the owner of Proxy, is a local, small-business professional with extensive experience as a leader of teams focused on taking care of clients wanting the best for their assets and time. He grew up in Bent Creek in western Buncombe County. Jamie is a licensed General Contract in North Carolina License Number: 87230.

As a team, Proxy has over 40 years of home watch and relevant related experience. Building a diverse organization, with an emphasis on cross-training our employees, has resulted in a team ready to identify, react and solve the wide range of potential issues that threaten homes in our area. Along with significant US military experience, the Proxy team combines diverse yet complementary training in Project/Construction Management, Renewable Energy, and Logistics. In other words…We’ve got you covered!

Going Green whenever feasible is a high priority at Proxy.  In the office and in client’s homes, thermostats and appliances are set to safely minimize energy usage.  Driving routes are planned to maximize fuel efficiency using electric and hybrid vehicles. We cherish the beauty of our region and do all that we can to minimize our impact on the land we love.
